Review: Armored Mighty Morphin Red Ranger (Power Rangers Megaforce)
Armored MIghty Morphin Red Ranger
$16.99 at Most Major Retailers (Purchased at TRU for $19.99)
As mentioned in the Armored Ultra Megaforce Rangers, a Armored Mighty Morphin Red Ranger was on the horizon. In the latest case assortment, he was finally released. Like the others he retails for $16.99 at most stores, with a TRU price of $19.99, where I found this figure. The Mighty Morphin Red Ranger shares the same base mold, with obviously a new helmet, new arms, and new boots to match the style of the Mighty Morphin design. He retains the extremely bulky muscle look the others figures did, which honestly just looks awful. Included with him are two additional weapon holding hands (with two splayed open hands as the default), the Power Sword, the Dragon Dagger, and of course the Blade Blaster to act as weaponry for the Red Ranger. Why the Dragon Dagger? Well of course this is an armored figure, and what armor does the Red Ranger have? That’s right, the Green Ranger’s Dragon Shield. The figure includes two segments of the Dragon Shield, and two gold arm bands. The armor has a tendency of popping off, as the tabs don’t like to lock all that well, but if you hit that sweet spot it actually stays in pretty well. That being said, the articulation is pretty nice. It’s not as great as an S.H.Figuart, but the poseability is still pretty good, especially for a Bandai America product. If you’re a huge MMPR nut, then you’ll love this figure a lot. If you’re not, then it’s a pretty simple pass as it isn’t truly a part of the Megaforce line. That being said, it does include a Power Card of the Red Ranger. If that’s worth it for you, then consider the figure a very fantastic bonus. I actually really like it.
