Review: WAP! 05 – Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Dragon (Kamen Rider Wizard)
WAP! 05 – Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Dragon
Retail Release – February, 2013 – ¥3,000
After finally completing our set of Wizard’s base Styles, the WAP! line moves onto Wizard’s Dragon Styles. First to be released was Flame Dragon in February, 2013 for the base price of ¥3,000. Flame Dragon shares a base mold with the previously released figures, meaning the articulation is basic and in all the same places. Nothing new is really brought to the table. The light up helmet gimmick has been removed in favor of the Dragon Special Parts that come packed with each figure. Flame Dragon of course comes with the Dragon Head that snaps onto Flame Dragon’s chest. The head has an open and closing mouth and does nothing else. Also included with Flame Dragon is a small Drago Timer that plugs into his right arm, the WizarSwordGun in an Open Handed Gun Mode and Open Handed Sword Mode. These ones however are cast in a clear red plastic. Of course the backdrop of the package includes the magical circle done on a pink card stock to represent Flame Dragon. How fun. Overall, if you can’t wait the month and a half until April rolls around for the SHF, then this is a great substitute that’s only main flaw is the hindered articulation compared to an SHF. On the plus side, all four Dragon Styles will be available at retail, unlike the S.H.Figuarts line. If you’re on a budget, and don’t mind the hindered articulation, this is definitely the way to go. Flame! Dragon!
