Review: S.H.Figuarts – Black Condor
S.H.Figuarts – Black Condor
Tamashii Web Exclusive – October, 2012 – ¥3,675
While I wasn’t a huge Jetman fan once I actually got around to watching it, I’m in love with Jetman’s suit design, and even more in love with the mold for their S.H.Figuarts releases. Red Hawk was stunning, so knowing that Black Condor was going to get a Tamashii Web Exclusive release was a good note. Tamashii released him in October, 2012 for the standard Sentai price of ¥3,675. Honestly, there is nothing new here. Black Condor’s accessory layout is 100% identical to Red Hawk’s minus the Akibaranger accessory. You get the eight additional hands, Bird Blaster, Bringer Sword (in compact and sword modes), Jet Hand Gun, Wing Gauntlet, an opened fin attachment for the Wing Gauntlet, and the Jet Wings. Body wise, the Jetmen all have the same suit design, so there is still nothing new until you get to the helmet, obviously being a new mold to suit Black Condor. Regardless of how much of a repaint this figure is, it’s certainly one of my favorites. The Jetman mold is basically Sentai S.H.Figuarts perfection, and I really hope the engineering on that body can continue into the future. If you’re a fan of Jetman, then you have to own this. There’s literally no reason (outside of not affording it, and that’s an awful reason) to skip on this release. If you’re just a casual Jetman fan, Red Hawk will suffice, so don’t bother trying to pay exclusive prices for essentially the same figure. But then again, this is Yuki Gai. Everyone needs a little Yuki Gai in their lives.
