Review: S.H.Figuarts – Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Dragon
S.H.Figuarts – Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Dragon
Retail Release – April, 2013 – ¥3,500
Not gonna lie. I was not a fan of Flame Style’s S.H.Figuarts release. Though I’m happy to report that a lot of the issues with the figure have been resolved. He was released in April, 2013 at standard retail for ¥3,500. Now some things aren’t fixed. His feet are still huge, his proportions are still really weird, and his belly is still eating disorder levels of thin compared to his upper chest. However, the WizarDriver now stays in tightly, all the joints are tight and his sculpt just seems overall better, especially in the head. Included with Flame Dragon is ten additional hands, both WizarSwordGuns, an alternate WizarDriver, his “Special” Dragon piece, and an exclusive “Special” Flame Dragon Tamashii Stage. The “Special” piece is simply a chest replacement piece, so pop the chest piece off of Flame Dragon and replace it with the Dragon head. You can spot the ports for the other pieces scattered around the figure to make All Dragon. Overall, Flame Dragon is an interesting release that covers a lot of the problems I had with Flame Style. The WAP! is still an overall better pick up, given how you can get all 4 forms for relatively cheap to make All Dragon compared to the S.H.Figuarts route which has three of the four being exclusive releases. If money isn’t an issue to you, you’ll probably get more out of the S.H.Figuart release, but the WAP! is a great substitute nonetheless. I have to hand it to the SHF though, the details are absolutely superb.
