Review: Henshin Gauntlet Gaburi Changer (Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger)
Henshin Gauntlet Gaburi Changer
Retail Release – May, 2013 – ¥4,500
It’s time for you to face my…Kyoryu Change! Kyoryu Gold’s changer, the Gaburi Changer, takes an ancient spin on the Gaburevolver. The Gaburi Changer is a projectile weapon, much like the Gaburevolver, but is styled after a wrist mounted crossbow, a weapon heavily used in older times as a means of concealed weaponry. I’ve always found them really awesome. It’s styled after Pteragordon’s head, with one singular wing on the side that unfolds into a blade. The toy itself reminds me a lot of the Ryuki Dragvisor in shape and size. Pop open the mouth and pop in any Zyudenchi to hear “Gaburincho! Pteragordon!” Close it up and pull the sling on the back to start the transformation, let go to finish it off. In both closed and active modes, the button on the right of the toy makes shooting and slashing sounds, depending on mode respectively. The other side of the handle has the button that is pressed when used with the Zandar Thunder to create a devastating finishing attack. Pull back the sling to hear a firing sound and a random explosion. Overall, the toy feels comfortable, can fit nearly any arm size, and just looks really cool. Unfortunately, the toy lacks playability, and is very limited in function compared to the Gaburevolver. If you’re a fan of Kyoryu Gold or collect Changers, then it’s a pretty solid pick up, but if you’re on a budget, just stick with the Gaburevolver for a much more enjoyable experience.
