Despite the overall crappy pull ratios from Plasma Blast, I decided to bite the bullet and buy a Booster Box. For those not in the know, Booster Boxes contain 36 packs of Pokémon TCG cards. Plasma Blast as a whole is 105 cards, with 4 cards being Secret Rare Shiny cards (Exeggcute, Virizion, Dusknoir, and Rare Candy) along with 4 ACE SPEC cards and 6 Full Art cards. In a nutshell, it’s a tough set to complete without a lot of trading, a lot of boxes, and a lot of luck. From the box I pulled three EXs: 2 Kyurem EX and a Virizion EX. I pulled one Full Art card, Iris. Finally I pulled two ACE SPEC cards, G-Scope and G-Booster. I did manage to pull some Catchers and good tool cards in this set, which is always a plus. Unfortunately that’s actually a decent pull compared to some boxes. The Theme Decks for this set are kind of hit and miss. Mind Wipe really has no redeeming qualities to it unless you REALLY need Caitlin. Solar Strike however has Blastoise, Ultra Ball, and Pokémon Catcher, three all around great cards in the format. Catcher is a must needed card, so it’s nice to finally see it in something that all players can get. The two promo packs were pretty abysmal, and considering the “promos” are two holo variants from Dark Explorers, it isn’t really worth it. Overall Plasma Blast is a set with interesting cards, but nothing all too game changing for the current format. Unfortunately two decks I want to try out, I didn’t get the cards for (Genesect and Toolbox) so I’ll have to do some more hunting to see what I can get. I’m satisfied with the AMOUNT I got, just not the contents. I already had a Virizion and getting two of the same EX is disappointing. Really fun though, I love opening packs. 😀
