Review: Arms Change 05 – Kamen Rider Zangetsu Melon Arms (Kamen Rider Gaim)
Arms Change 05 – Kamen Rider Zangetsu Melon Arms
Retail Release – November, 2013 – ¥3,000
Our fifth entry into the Arms Change Series brings us Kamen Rider Zangetsu Melon Arms, the default (and only?) form of Kamen Rider Zangetsu. It was released in November, 2013 for the normal price of ¥3,000. The pack includes the main body for Kamen Rider Zangetsu, the Melon Arms, and the Melon Shield. Zangetsu shares a body with Gaim, now done in a white plastic with gold and black accents. Of course, Zangetsu has a brand new headsculpt that I really, really adore. Unfortunately his crest is on the larger side in terms of height so some of the Arms do pop open when trying to place them on his head. Notably I’ve had the issue with Banana and Ichigo. Regardless, once open, all the Arms fit on him just fine, and every one looks great in some fashion or another. Zangetsu Banana Arms is probably my favorite form to date. The Melon Shield is a cool weapon that fits in the hands of the figures, albeit loosely. He can also hold the Musou Saber for some pretty cool sword and shield poses. The Melon Arms transforms exactly like Orange, and looks great on a number of other guys as well. As per usual, the Arms Change line proves to be beyond fun. Zangetsu is a really cool body, and I look forward to seeing Zangetsu Shin pop up relatively soon. Great buy.
