Review: Kaiten Jyuuken ToQBlaster (Ressha Sentai ToQger)
Kaiten Jyuuken ToQBlaster
Retail Release – February, 2014 – ¥4,500
The ToQBlaster is the main sidearm for the five ToQger that, like all awesome sidearms as of late, can transform from Blaster Mode to Sword Mode. It was released at the show’s premier in February, 2014 for ¥4,500. Included is the Scope Ressha, a small orange Ressha with a scope on the front, usually used to perform the final attacks with the Blaster. Like all the Ressha, it can attach to ToQ-Oh’s arm sockets to create new combinations. The Blaster Mode can make one firing noise, as well as the final attack noise with a Ressha inserted. Flip out the blade, pull the tab and rotate the handle to switch to Sword Mode with the “Kirimasu!” call. This mode has two attack sounds, as well as the final attack noise with a Ressha inserted. Reverse the instructions to switch back to Blaster Mode with the “Uchimasu!” call. The Blaster Mode is hefty, a great size, and while it doesn’t look that impressive, is great to hold. The Sword Mode leaves a lot to be desired, with a lackluster design and really dinky size. My favorite thing about the toy is the panel changing between Blaster and Sword Modes. I just really like the way it works. It’s a nice pick up on discount for the Blaster Mode, the Ressha, and the features.
